Why We Built This Site
Kentucky makes many justice records available, yet access depends on the record's custodian. Floyd County police and sheriff reports stay with the agency that created them. The Floyd Circuit Court Clerk keeps District and Circuit case files, while the Administrative Office of the Courts supplies statewide court-history reports. Kentucky State Police maintains the central fingerprint repository and the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry. The Department of Corrections publishes custody and supervision information through KOOL. We organize the verified contacts, request routes, search tools, and limits that distinguish those systems.
What You Will Find Here
- Official contacts: direct routes to Floyd's sheriff, court clerk, police agencies, and state record systems
- Record guides: how to locate and read a Floyd County court case file
- State check steps: the difference between an AOC court report and a KSP fingerprint-supported self-check
- Record relief: Kentucky expungement certification, filing steps, and the role of the Floyd Circuit Court Clerk
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site, not part of a Kentucky court, police department, sheriff's office, or state agency. That distinction sets firm limits on what we can provide:
- We do not issue certified case documents, court reports, or repository records
- We cannot submit an open-records request or an expungement filing for a visitor
- We do not run an official criminal-history or fingerprint check
- We cannot interpret a charge, warrant, disposition, or sentence as legal advice
- We cannot promise that an agency's fee, office hour, or contact detail has not changed
An official record must come from its custodian, such as the Floyd Circuit Court Clerk, the creating police agency, Kentucky State Police, or AOC.
Search Partners
Third-party providers power search boxes on some pages. They control their own results, terms, data practices, and prices. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral payment that supports this resource. We do not set partner charges, verify their matches, or treat those results as official Floyd County or Kentucky records.
