Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its own results. We do not keep a separate log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Routine server logs can collect technical details when a page loads:
- Page-view dates, times, and duration
- Browser name and version
- Device class and operating system
- The visited pages
- A referring website, when supplied
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved through a browser. They and analytics services help combine traffic patterns, such as popular pages and common exit points. A browser can block or remove cookies, though some features may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Route a search request to the selected provider
- Find and repair performance or technical problems
- Measure which resources visitors use
- Operate and secure the website
- Display advertising that may reflect likely interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Floyd County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Its content identifies official access routes through the Floyd Circuit Court Clerk, local law enforcement, Kentucky State Police, AOC, and the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not turned into a third-party dossier or consumer report. This operation is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their own privacy policies govern submitted information, including how long it is kept and whether it is shared. Review the applicable provider policy before using a tool because those practices are outside our control.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to courts, the sheriff, state agencies, legal resources, or private services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's policy governs. Check it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. Their collection does not occur in a Floyd County government record system.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- Analytics vendors measuring traffic and performance
- A search partner handling a submitted query
- Advertising networks placing or measuring ads
- A government body when valid legal process requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable safeguards are used for information under our control. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect a minor's personal information. A verified request concerning data provided by someone under 18 will be handled by deletion where applicable.
Your Data Rights
Rights vary by residence and the law that applies. The Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, governs access to nonexempt records of Kentucky public agencies; it does not convert this private site into a public agency. KRS 17.185 separately addresses a person's right to request a KSP-supported check on oneself. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:
- Request access to personal data held about that visitor
- Ask for correction of inaccurate personal data
- Seek deletion when the law permits it
- Object to certain processing where a right applies
